Esporão Artist Series Reserva Red 2020
RED 2020 • DOC Alentejo
The first wine made by Esporão in 1985. A classic obtained exclusively from our organic grapes. The diversity of Herdade do Esporão, together with the different characteristics of the grape varieties, the soils, the maturity of the vines and the character of those who make this wine consistently over the years, results in a rich, intense but always harmonious wine.
Label illustrated by Abel Mota.
Harvest Year
The 2020 agricultural year registered slightly higher average temperatures compared to the last 21 years, with precipitation values identical to the historical average. A mild, rainy winter and spring restored water reserves in the vineyard, ensuring good vegetative growth compared to 2019. The summer was very hot and dry, with extreme July temperatures that brought the harvest forward by about two weeks. Favorable ripening conditions allowed for a selective harvest, maximizing the expression and quality of each variety.
