Esporão Artist Series Reserva Red 2023
RED 2023 • DOC Alentejo
Wine Concept
Esporão Reserva is the estate’s oldest and most iconic label—a classic that has become a benchmark for quality and craftsmanship in the Alentejo. Grapes are sourced from certified organic vineyards, where the diversity of soils and grape varieties creates a blend that reflects the essence of our origins.
The label is illustrated by architect Álvaro Siza Vieira.
Harvest Year
2023 was a hot and dry year. During the dormant period (autumn-winter), temperatures were mild and rainfall levels higher than in
2022. However, spring-summer saw very high temperatures and very low rainfall. As a result, phenological stages advanced more quickly in the vineyard. Harvest began early and was concentrated into just a few weeks, with several varieties reaching optimal ripeness at the same time. This provided aromatic, intense wines with great complexity.
