Assobio Red
DOC Douro
DOURO – ALTITUDE – FRESHNESS
Close to one of Quinta dos Murças’ boundaries, we can find a valley formed by steep slopes.
Here, in this mostly north-facing location, which is more sheltered from the sun, we can hear the wind whistling when it blows. The Assobio range comes from vines like those found there, from plots with unique characteristics, and planted at higher altitudes.
Concept
Respecting the winegrowing tradition of the world’s oldest demarcated region, the wines produced are based on the region’s indigenous varieties. Versatile and gastronomic, they express the Douro’s freshest side.
Harvest Year
It was a year marked by a winter that was warmer and drier than usual and a spring with large temperature fluctuations and rainfall. Early summer was marked by thunderstorms and heavy hail at the end of June and a cooler and more humid July. The temperatures increased in August, which accelerated ripening. We started harvesting the red grapes on 6 September, with good acidity and intensity.
